The Seattle Seahawks have been back in the world of preseason joint practices ever since Mike Macdonald became head coach in 2024. While we’ve yet to see joint practices come to Renton, the Seahawks will once again use one of their preseason road trips as an opportunity to scrimmage before the game itself.
ESPN’s Brady Henderson reported on Thursday that the Seahawks and Tennessee Titans will have a joint practice in Nashville, tentatively set for Aug. 21.
Seattle’s first joint practice in over three decades was against the Titans during Coach Macdonald’s first season. There were two scrimmages held before their preseason meeting. Prior to their preseason finale against the Green Bay Packers last season, they had one joint scrimmage in Green Bay. There were some rumblings about having the Dallas Cowboys come up to VMAC for a scrimmage before Seattle’s only preseason home game, but that obviously isn’t happening.

The Seahawks-Titans preseason game will be on Sunday, Aug. 23 at 5 pm PT on FOX. As is seemingly the standard when there is a scrimmage before the actual game, expect a whole lot of backups and backups to the backups on both teams. The starters will get their work in the joint practices.
