The New Orleans Saints announced that veteran place kicker and former Pro Bowler (2020) Younghoe Koo will try out at the team’s upcoming rookie minicamp.
The 31-year-old former undrafted free agent of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017 spent one season with the Bolts before heading to the arch-rival Atlanta Falcons for a six-and-a-half-year tenure, before joining the New York Giants for the final half of the 2025 season.

Koo went 13 of 14 on extra points (92.9%) last season with both Atlanta and the New York Giants, while going six of nine on field goal attempts (66.7%)—one from 40–49 yards out and two from 50+ yards out. He earned a field-goal grade of 46.4 from Pro Football Focus last season, while also handling kickoff duties, producing an average opponent starting field position at the 29.4-yard line and earning a 27.8 kickoff grade.
Over his career, Koo is 186 of 194 on extra points (95.9%), while going 185 of 217 (85.3%) on field goal attempts—four from 30–39 yards out, 15 from 40–49 yards out, and 13 from 50+ yards out.
With third-year kicker Charlie Smyth yet to cement himself as the team’s starting kicker, Koo could provide valuable competition in the Saints’ offseason program and potentially bounce back from a low point in his career by winning the job for the season opener.
