The Kings traded up in the NBA Draft to select UConn forward Alex Karaban with the 29th overall pick.

Sacramento is trading the No. 34 overall pick and a future second-rounder to get Karaban, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Karaban spent four seasons with the Huskies, winning the natty in 2023 and 2024. Throughout his time there, he averaged 12.5 points, five rebounds and two assists with a 46.8 field-goal percentage and 37.4 three-point percentage in 151 games.

The 23-year-old nearly got a third national championship this past season, but UConn fell to Michigan in the March Madness final.

Karaban became the first men’s player to have been inducted into the Huskies of Honour in February 2026 while still being active. He is also the winningest player in UConn history.
