Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Mike Gansey has agreed to become the 76ers’ new president of basketball operations, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Friday.

Gansey had been with the Cavaliers since 2012, beginning with their G League affiliate. He rose through the ranks and eventually became general manager of the G League squad in 2015, where he won D-League (previous name of G League) Executive of the Year in 2017.

The 43-year-old then became the Cavaliers’ assistant GM in 2017 and GM in 2022. He helped shape the Cavaliers roster that has become among the East’s best, guiding them to the post-season every season since becoming general manager.

Gansey will replace Daryl Morey, who was fired earlier this month after six years with the franchise.
