The Raptors signed and subsequently waived guard AJ Hoggard on Thursday, per Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca (Twitter links).

Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, Hoggard’s contract almost certainly featured Exhibit 10 language. After being waived, he’s now on track to earn a bonus worth up to $91K if he spends at least 60 days with the G League’s Raptors 905.

Hoggard played four years at Michigan State and one with Vanderbilt from 2020-25. While he didn’t hear his name in last year’s NBA draft, he was selected 10th overall by Toronto’s affiliate team in last fall’s NBA G League draft and spent all of last season with the 905.

Following a modest role (he averaged 4.9 minutes per game in eight outings) in the Tip-Off Tournament, Hoggard emerged as a decent bench contributor for the Raptors 905 during the regular season, averaging 11.3 points, 6.3 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals on .428/.402/.645 shooting splits in 34 appearances (24.1 minutes per contest).

Hoggard seems likely to head back to the 905 as he begins his second professional season.
