Centre Jakob Poeltl was a late scratch against the Los Angeles Lakers (9 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+) with left shoulder bursitis, the Raptors announced.
The seven-footer was the lone active player on the Raptors’ roster over six-foot-nine, and the Lakers start seven-foot-two big man Walker Kessler at centre.
Poeltl has started in all five of the Raptors’ games thus far, averaging 4.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and one assist while playing 20.2 minutes per game.
The 31-year-old played a career-low 46 games last season while dealing with recurring back issues.
He is the second Toronto starter to go down with an injury, as Kawhi Leonard is currently sidelined with knee swelling.
Trayce Jackson-Davis will slot into the starting lineup with Poeltl out.
