The Green Bay Packers are hosting an NFC South team at Lambeau Field on Thursday Night Football. Does that sound familiar? It should, because it happened just five weeks ago as well, and it’s weird that it’s happening twice this season.
The Packers are understandably hoping to avoid a repeat of the first of these occurrences tonight, however. Last time out, the Atlanta Falcons came into Lambeau and crushed the Packers 35-14, sending the team to a 1-2 record and putting many of the Green and Gold faithful in panic mode. The Packers did rip off three straight wins after that, but they last to the Lions on a last-second field goal last Sunday and now need a win on a short week to keep from falling back to .500.

Tonight, it’s the Carolina Panthers in town. Carolina won the NFC South division a year ago and they hold a half-game lead on the Falcons for the division lead heading into Week 8. However, they are coming off an abysmal performance in a divisional game, losing 43-13 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday in a game that saw them allow more than 250 rushing yards.
Is this the week that the Packers get back on track with the running game? Here’s how and when to tune in and find out just that.
