The Green Bay Packers are in an interesting position in terms of their injury report, because the team can mostly handle the issues they are suffering with just their internal options on the 53-man active roster. There are a couple of exceptions to that rule, which we’ll go over in this piece, and head coach Matt LaFleur discussed these injuries in depth in his post-practice press conference on Tuesday.

The following four players were the only players who didn’t suit up for the Packers’ walkthrough practice on Tuesday. Center Sean Rhyan and linebacker Zaire Franklin have already been ruled out of Thursday Night Football‘s action, and LaFleur said that the team hasn’t ruled out placing Rhyan on the injured reserve — which would open up a roster spot on Green Bay’s currently full active roster.
On the subject of receiver Matthew Golden, LaFleur stated that hopes that the receiver will be available against the Carolina Panthers, but that the team is “still kind of working through it.”
Travis Glover’s knee injury was not reported to the team until Monday, according to LaFleur, and the head coach has claimed that Kevin Zeitler will be ready to go if Glover can’t put on the pads on Thursday.
DL Anthony Campbell (ankle)
ED Brenton Cox Jr. (quadricep)

The following players were limited participants in practice today, but it’s worth noting that all of them were able to finish Sunday’s game. In all likelihood, they will play against the Panthers.

So what are we on the look for in Green Bay? A 53-man roster getting worked down to a 48-man game-day roster is pretty simple for the Packers right now. They will almost certainly scratch three offensive linemen (including or not including injured players), running back Kaleb Johnson (who was a healthy scratch last week) and linebacker Zaire Franklin (who is out again with an injury).
The only issue from a numbers perspective is if Matthew Golden can’t go. If he’s banged up, maybe the Packers end up elevating receiver Isaiah Neyor from the practice squad for the first time this season.

On the Panthers’ end of the injury report, starting edge rusher Jaelan Phillips and starting guard Damien Lewis remained non-participants for the second-straight walkthrough in Carolina this week. The Panthers are already dealing with a major loss in right tackle Taylor Moton, who went on the injured reserve on Monday.

Maybe the biggest injury news of the day was that LaFleur finally gave us a hint on the team’s timeline for edge defender Micah Parsons’ return. When asked if Parsons will practice next week, LaFleur stated, “I sure hope so.” When he was pushed on the subject, he said, “I’m saying there’s a chance.”
