The Line: Panthers minus-3.5/Total: 38.5
What is the line telling you:
There used to be a TV show called It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but when it comes to the rest of the 2026 season for the Philadelphia Eagles, the weather forecast calls for dark clouds and heavy downpours of grief. For the second home game in a row, the Eagles are underdogs in the betting market. Carolina comes into Philly favored by 3.5 points, with a combined total set at 39 or 38.5 depending on which sportsbook you use.
Things have gone downhill faster than the new Tesla Roadster for the Eagles. In a matter of a few weeks, Philadelphia has gone from 16-1 to win the Super Bowl all the way up to 65-1, with 17 teams now ahead of them with better odds. Ironically, their odds of winning it all are still better than the Panthers’, who sit at 75-1.

I know Eagles fans are praying that the defense continues to play at an elevated level given all the issues and injuries the offense is dealing with. However, the scary reality is that over the last two weeks, they have lost the time-of-possession battle by over 15 minutes (including 11 minutes last week against the Jags). If that trend continues, we will likely start seeing a ton of injuries develop on the defensive side of the ball.
I told you guys to bet on the Eagles not to make the playoffs a few weeks ago at -155, and now those odds have soared to -300 (a 75% implied probability). It is getting uglier for Philly by the moment.
Bottom line:
The only way I could bet this game is to take the Panthers at -3 (buying the half-point) and on the moneyline. I also like the over on 38 points, since both defenses rank outside the top 20 in opponent yards per game and opponent rushing yards per attempt. Furthermore, both teams rank in the basement of the NFL in pass defense.
