NFL picks and predictions: Dolphins vs. 49ers, rest of Week 2 2026

We are switching things up a little this week. Instead of spreading our picks and predictions across multiple days and tying each pick to the games played that day, we’re consolidating them in one place to give you all our picks for the week. This gives you a one-stop spot to see our contributors’ predictions for the week and join our picks pool.

As for the Miami Dolphins‘ game against the San Francisco 49ers later today, this is not expected to be a pretty game for Dolphins fans. The 49ers are favored by 13.5 points, and after how Miami played last week against the Las Vegas Raiders, that spread seems closer than it should be. As they head into the second week of a franchise rebuild, the Dolphins need to prove that their decision to stay in California between the two games out west gave them a mini-training camp to correct their Week 1 mistakes.

All our contributors have the 49ers winning this game. I have Miami covering the 13.5-point spread, but that may just be wishful thinking. Can Miami stay committed to getting the ball to running back De’Von Achane on the ground and through the air better than they did last week? Will the rookies starting and playing major roles across the roster take the next step after making their debut last week? If Miami can answer both of those questions with a “yes,” they could be slightly better than last week and, perhaps, stay within striking distance of the 49ers today.

Last week, James McKinney jumped out to the early lead for the year with a 12-4 performance. Marek Brave and Sumeet Jena were tied for second at 10-6, while I was last at 9-7. The Phinsider Community finished 10-6.
