The NFL schedule release will take place sometime this month, and the Los Angeles Rams should be in primetime plenty this season. With the Rams established as a heavy Super Bowl favorite, they should be given the most primetime games in 2026.
That shouldn’t be much to ask from the league, even if the defending champion Seahawks reside in their division. Both matchups with Seattle should be considered for the primetime slot, considering last season’s thrillers in Week 16 and the NFC Championship.
Seattle will be among the league leaders in night games this year, and for good reason, but why couldn’t the Rams top them? Just because a team won the big game doesn’t mean they’ll play before a national audience the most times.

In 2025, the Chiefs tied an NFL record with seven primetime games, and that was after the Eagles had destroyed them in the Super Bowl. Ah, good times. The Rams only had four such games, which was surprising since they were coming off two straight playoff appearances.
L.A. has been on the upswing with primetime games, with 10 total since the 2024 campaign. It’s not unreasonable to think that they’ll tie their ‘24 mark with six. Also, the Week 1 game with the 49ers in Australia is set for a later time on a Thursday, so five others to go!
Any one of the following teams could be a primetime opponent:
Bills (last two MVP winners going at it? Say less!)
Chargers (Battle for L.A.!)
Broncos (2025 AFC finalist)
Raiders (I have a weird feeling about this one)
Anything less than five primetime games on the upcoming schedule will be a disappointment, because the Rams will be must-watch TV. With the reigning MVP in Matthew Stafford and one of the league’s best rosters, get ready to see L.A. playing before a national audience plenty in 2026. Following a return to Super Bowl contention the last few seasons, the team has earned the right to the most primetime games in the NFL this season.
