Following the massive box-office success of Hanuman Ansh, a new series based on the life and spiritual legacy of Neem Karoli Baba has been announced. Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV have unveiled the first promo of the upcoming mytho-fiction series.
The promo offers a mysterious glimpse into the world surrounding Neem Karoli Baba. It features a man wearing the saint’s trademark shawl, while a voiceover hints at the extraordinary stories associated with his life. The visuals also include a reference to Lord Hanuman, setting a spiritual and mystical tone for the series.
The series is expected to air on Sony Entertainment Television and stream on SonyLIV. However, the makers have not yet revealed the cast, number of episodes or premiere date. SonyLIV shared the promo on social media with the caption, “Coming soon on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.”
A voiceover in the promo says, “Jis insaan ki kahaaniyon ne desh ko mantramugdh kar diya, ab saamne aayengi unki zindagi se judi chamatkari gaathayein.” (A man whose stories captivated the nation—now, the miraculous tales from his life will be brought to light.).
The announcement comes as Hanuman Ansh, directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, continues its successful theatrical run. The devotional film, which was released on August 7, has crossed the Rs 400 crore mark worldwide. Reports put its worldwide collection at around Rs 410 crore.
Starring Shobhinaw Satyaa as Neem Karoli Baba, Hanuman Ansh is inspired by the saint’s life and teachings and is based on Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life. The film initially had a slow start but gained momentum through word of mouth, eventually turning into a major box-office success.
With the new series, Neem Karoli Baba’s life and the mystical stories associated with him are now set to be explored further on television and streaming. More details about the project are expected to be announced by the makers soon.
