The Lakers have signed Chase Ross and Meechie Johnson to Exhibit 10 contracts ahead of training camp, tweets Law Murray of The Athletic.

Both players went undrafted in June, making them unrestricted free agents.

Ross, a 6’4″ guard, spent the past four years playing for Marquette. The Dallas native was named to the Big East’s All-Defense team in 2025/26 after leading the conference with 2.3 steals per game. He also contributed 14.3 PPG, 4.2 RPG and 3.4 APG on .421/.295/.723 shooting in 32 games as a senior for the Golden Eagles (32.0 MPG).

Ross most recently made three appearances for the Lakers’ Summer League team in July, averaging 2.0 PPG and 0.7 SPG in 8.3 MPG during those outings.

Johnson was granted two years of extra NCAA eligibility due to COVID-19 and a redshirt year, so he was in college from 2020-26, spending time with Ohio State and South Carolina. As a senior for the Gamecocks last season, the 6’2″ guard averaged 17.2 points, 4.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals on .414/.326/.809 shooting in 32 games (31.4 minutes per contest).

Both Johnson and Ross will likely be waived in the coming days. If that comes to fruition, each player would be eligible for a bonus worth up to $91K if he spends at least 60 days with the G League’s Coachella Valley Lakers.
