A former first-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts, Joseph Addai scored plenty of touchdowns during his six-year NFL career.
Although his playing days are long over, he stays close to the game thanks to his kids. On Friday night, he watched on as a dad as his son Jaylen hauled in one of the best catches any receiver in the country will make this season.

In Shadow Creek’s (TX) 44-7 win over Dawson (TX), Jaylen had two touchdown receptions, but it was his first that had the stadium buzzing.

Shadow Creek quarterback Tavis Coleman heaved a pass to Jaylen, who hand-fought with the Dawson defensive back the whole way. With one arm held down, Jaylen somehow hauled in the catch with the other as he slid out of bounds.
Jaylen’s two-touchdown night extended his streak of games with a touchdown to four in a row. He was held without a touchdown in the Sharks season opener but has scored in every game since, including two two-touchdown games in two of Shadow Creek’s last three games.

He entered the night with 14 receptions for a team-high 354 yards and four touchdowns.
Jaylen is ranked as a five-star prospect in the latest USA TODAY Sports 2028 composite rankings and one of the top receivers for the class. He’s ranked as the No. 6 player in the class, the No. 1 player out of Texas, and the No. 3 wide receiver prospect.
