Years ago, Odell Beckham Jr.‘s wacky relationship with a kicking net on the sideline made headlines. In 2026, there’s a new Giant in town forming a familiar relationship with a different sideline apparatus.
Second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart was back in the blue medical tent on Aug. 15 during New York’s preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings. After undergoing five concussion checks from hard hits he took as a rookie, Dart needed to be evaluated for a head injury once more after taking a hard sack in his first game as a second-year.

The 2025 first-round pick took a massive hit on a safety blitz from Vikings defensive back Jay Ward. Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. missed his block, and Dart paid the price. The young quarterback headed to the tent for a concussion evaluation, though he eventually returned.
“I’m not gonna talk too much about the tent,” Dart said with a smile when asked during the broadcast about the sequence. “Obviously, there’s just little things we gotta clean up on.”
