Jalen Williams underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to address his fractured left fibula and dislocated ankle, the Thunder announced in a press release, per Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman (via Twitter).
The procedure involved “reconstruction of ankle ligaments following a fracture and dislocation,” the team noted, adding that he will be re-evaluated following the end of the 2026-27 regular season.
Williams suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the Clippers and was immediately stretchered off the court, giving the crowd two thumbs up as he was carried off. Williams had been trying to find his rhythm after a disjointed previous season dealing with injuries.
The Thunder will now have to proceed without their secondary offensive creator as well as their top perimeter defender, Cason Wallace, who is out indefinitely with a torn labrum. In their absences, the team started Ajay Mitchell and Jared McCain in their win over the Suns on Monday.
