The Hornets have signed free agent forward Josiah Allick, the team announced (via Twitter).

While the terms of Allick’s agreement were not disclosed, Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports that the 25-year-old signed an Exhibit 10 contract for training camp (Twitter link).

Allick spent three college seasons with the University of Missouri-Kansas City prior to transferring to New Mexico for his senior year. He was one of many college players who were granted a fifth year of eligibility due to COVID, and spent his “super senior” season with Nebraska.

In 33 games with the Cornhuskers in 2023/24, Allick averaged 7.3 PPG and 5.4 RPG in 23.8 MPG, with a shooting slash line of .550/.364/.644.

After going undrafted in 2024, Allick spent several months as a free agent prior to signing with the Zerofees Southland Sharks of New Zealand’s NBL. He was named MVP of the semi-professional league, per RealGM, having averaged 18.9 PPG, 11.3 RPG and 3.1 APG on .591/.356/.736 shooting in 22 contests (32.3 MPG).

Allick caught on with the Hornets’ G League team last season, playing 41 Tip-Off Tournament and regular season games (16.6 MPG) with the Greensboro Swarm while averaging 5.6 PPG, 5.8 RPG and 0.9 BPG on .658/.273/.529 shooting. He also made five playoff appearances for the Swarm, who won the NBAGL championship.

The 6’8″ forward seems like a strong candidate to return to Greensboro again in 2026/27. If Allick is waived before the regular season begins and spends at least 60 days with the Swarm, he’d be eligible for a bonus worth up to $91K on top of his typical G League salary.

The Hornets, who are facing a roster crunch this fall, are now at the offseason limit of 21 players under contract.
