As expected, the Hawks have waived forward Cameron Corhen and guard Kobe Johnson, their two remaining camp invitees, the team announced today in a press release.
Atlanta’s roster now appears ready for the start of the regular season. The team is carrying 15 players on standard contracts – 14 with guaranteed salaries and Mouhamed Gueye on a non-guaranteed contract – and three on two-way deals.
Corhen and Johnson are both expected to end up with Atlanta’s G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks. Their Exhibit 10 deals will put them in line to receive bonuses ($40K for Corhen and $91K for Johnson) if they’re waived and then spend at least 60 days with the Skyhawks.
Johnson would be a returning rights player for College Park, having played for the Hawks’ G League team last season. Corhen, meanwhile, went undrafted out of Pittsburgh this June and could become an affiliate player for the Skyhawks. Both players suited up for Atlanta’s Summer League team in July and then saw a little playing time during the preseason.
