Free agent shooting guard Devon Higgs has signed with the Hawks, the team announced today in a press release.

While Higgs spent some time playing overseas during the past two years, the Georgia native has primarily competed in the G League since going undrafted out of Georgia Southwestern State in 2023. He has suited up for the Motor City Cruise, Greensboro Swarm, and – most recently – the College Park Skyhawks, Atlanta’s NBAGL affiliate.

In six games for College Park last season, Higgs averaged 8.0 points, 2.2 steals, and 1.5 rebounds in 20.5 minutes per contest, with a shooting line of .567/.300/.750. The 6’5″ guard subsequently suited up for Atlanta’s Salt Lake City and Las Vegas Summer League teams in July, averaging 11.5 PPG, 3.2 RPG, and 1.5 SPG in six appearances (21.5 MPG).

The Hawks didn’t reveal the details of Higgs’ agreement, but in all likelihood, it’s a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract, designed to get him a bonus worth up to $91K if he returns to the Skyhawks and spends at least 60 days with the team this season.

For now, Higgs will fill the 21st and final spot on Atlanta’s offseason roster.
