A work trip followed by leisure and vacation in Bali turned unfortunate and fatal, as Bollywood actor Nushrratt Bharuccha met with an accident and was airlifted to Mumbai. She will undergo spinal surgery in Mumbai after sustaining a severe spinal fracture.
Reports suggest that a broken spinal bone may require direct surgical intervention. On Friday late night, actor Nushrratt Bharuccha returned to Mumbai on Friday, October 2, via an air ambulance. Videos of the actor arriving at Mumbai airport have surfaced online, showing her being brought out of the air ambulance on a stretcher.
Nushrratt was surrounded by her family members and close friends, including actress Ishita Raj, who accompanied her during the transfer.
Nushrratt was unable to walk and was on a stretcher. She was trying to speak a little and was also making hand movements.
After landing in the city, Nushrratt was taken for further medical evaluation. She is expected to undergo spine surgery as part of her treatment and recovery.
The statement also mentioned that, considering the nature of her injury and the surgery, the actress will need sufficient time to rest and recover. Her professional commitments over the next few weeks are therefore expected to be affected.
Nushrratt’s team also requested her fans, friends and members of the media to respect her privacy during this difficult period and allow her to concentrate on her treatment.
“We are grateful for everyone’s concern and good wishes and will share further updates as and when appropriate,” the statement read.
Before her travels abroad, Nushrratt Bharuccha officially joined the ensemble cast of a major action spectacle helmed by director and choreographer Remo D’Souza. The production marks her debut on-screen collaboration opposite action lead Tiger Shroff, alongside a cast featuring Pashmina Roshan, Abhishek Banerjee and Elvish Yadav.
She made her debut in Jai Santoshi Maa, and she gained critical industry traction through Love Sex Aur Dhokha. Breakthrough mainstream success followed through commercial hits including Pyaar Ka Punchnama, its direct sequel Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, and the box-office blockbuster Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
