The Falcons have started drafting better defensively over the last three years. After struggling to identify and develop young talent for years, there has been genuine improvement across the organization in building a solidified defense filled with speed and versatility. Jalon Walker, Brandon Dorlus, and Xavier Watts are three players who have been at the forefront of a much-improved unit in Atlanta. They appear most likely to elevate themselves in 2026.

Walker battled injuries during stretches of his rookie season, but his skill set screams star when he’s at his best. His ability to play in different spots makes him a player opposing offensive coordinators will have to game plan for. Dorlus was outstanding as a disruptive force on the interior. The consistent pressure he brought inside was one of the biggest reasons behind last season’s defense breaking the franchise record for most sacks in a season. Watts entered the league as a playmaker who knows how to put himself around the ball. He did exactly that with five interceptions and 11 passes defensed.
All three players are capable of becoming franchise cornerstones. Which of them do you believe will improve the most in 2026? Let us know your choice and thoughts below.
