When Saquon Barkley went out with a hamstring injury in the first quarter of a 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles gave their RB2, Tank Bigsby, an increased workload.
But Bigsby, too, suffered a setback in the gut-wrenching defeat and now, according to multiple reports on Monday, is undergoing core muscle surgery and heading to injured reserve.

Philadelphia hopes Bigsby is back in six weeks or less, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. On Sunday, the Eagles will take on the fourth-year back’s old team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
If Barkley can’t go for that matchup, either, the onus will be on Will Shipley to carry the load at the position. The 2024 fourth-round pick from Clemson rushed six times for a total of 23 yards versus the Rams over the weekend.
