De'Von Achane out for season with torn ACL

The Dolphins will not have one of their best players for the rest of the season.

Running back De’Von Achane suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs, according to a joint report from ESPN and NFL Network.

Head coach Jeff Hafley told reporters in his postgame press conference that news about Achane’s injury did not sound optimistic.

Achane went down during the first quarter of Sunday’s contest after recording an 11-yard reception. He was tackled awkwardly before coming off the field gingerly under his own power.

The Dolphins signed Achane to a four-year $64 million contract extension during the offseason.

Achane led the league with 5.7 yards per carry last season, rushing for 1,350 yards with eight touchdowns. He also caught 67 passes for 488 yards with four TDs in 2025.

A third-round pick in 2023, Achane has appeared in 47 career games with 39 starts. He’s rushed for 3,184 yards with 22 touchdowns and caught 179 passes for 1,326 yards with 13 TDs.
