The Denver Broncos crashed and burned on Monday night against the Kansas City Chiefs and the only good news from that game is that its a short week in Week 1. They can turn the page quickly and move on quickly with a win at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
In six weeks if the Broncos are 5-1 or 4-2, we won’t even care. The risk now, though, is that this team could easily be 1-5 and 2-4 by then if they don’t get this mess cleaned up fast. We will learn a lot about this team on Sunday. How they respond and they play will show us whether or not they are going to be a good football team here early in the season.
Stock Up, Stock Down After the Broncos’ Loss to the Chiefs in Week 1

Broncos vs Jaguars Week 2 preview: Denver looks to drastically improve
Bo Nix and the Broncos were just curb-stomped by the Chiefs. Denver will look to get back on track this Sunday in Week 2.
Broncos at Chiefs: The No Bull Review
The Denver Broncos decided to run it back with the best continuity in the NFL, brought in a top-tier wide receiver free agent, and had a healthy Bo Nix for week 1 of the NFL season. What did we get for all the chatter about being a Super Bowl ready team? An absolute butt stain of a performance from the Broncos on offense and defense.

The objective ref bias post above is super interesting, but I have to say it lacks context of the calls. I’ve never said the Chiefs get called for fewer penalties – more than they get the beneficial ones. The calls that swing momentum or alter the course of games. The final stat line will hide that quite easily.

Even so, its a good baseline for a deeper dive into many of the Chiefs’ close games over the years and find out who actually benefited in a way that gave the assisted win so to speak. That deep dive would not include Monday’s game. They were going to whip Denver’s ass with or without a missed holding call. 😉
