The Denver Broncos look to continue its success against NFC opponents in Week 3 when they host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. In the last nine games against NFC teams, the Broncos are 9-0.
In fact, Bo Nix has only lost a single game against NFC teams and that was his first ever start in the league. That’s wild to think about. He is 9-1 all-time.

When asked about the streak, head coach Sean Payton smartly downplayed the whole thing noting the closeness of most of those games and how they just don’t play a whole lot of NFC teams.
“We’ve competed against some really good teams,” Payton said. “We’ve had some close NFC matchups. One that I remember is last year, the Eagles. They gave us a challenge, and we had to come back and same with the Giants. So we’ve had to play some complete football against these teams, and so I think it’s just by chance and by schedule. Obviously you play more AFC teams, usually typically year-to-year, so the pool is smaller. I think we’re playing good football when we play out of the league, but obviously that doesn’t win us the next game. So we just have to keep at it, and work hard out here on the field, practice hard and just get ready for the next one.”
I hate streaks and now that this one has been mentioned, I’ll be fretting every time they face an NFC opponent. To be fair, the NFC South was fairly bad in 2024 and the NFC East was not — which is why most of those games were wild and close comebacks wins for Denver. And it only got harder this season with the NFC West on the docket.
