Jets rookie pass rusher David Bailey sustained an ankle injury at Jets training camp practice on Saturday. It does not sound serious.
Bailey has been one of the stories of Jets training camp. Of course you never know for sure about a player until he starts producing in real games. But by all accounts he has looked the part of a premium prospect.

I’m a believer that practice reps in training camp are particularly beneficial for rookies to help them adapt to the better competition in the NFL than they faced in college. The Jets will surely be cautious with putting Bailey back on the field until he is completely healthy, though. It is unclear whether the starters will get any playing time in next week’s preseason opener, but anybody who is even slightly less than 100 percent will sit. The important thing for Bailey is being ready for Week 1.
