The Washington Commanders are back on the practice fields after having a light walkthrough day yesterday with no media. Today the fans will be in attendance for the first time, and it should be a great opportunity for them to see the new team in action. Head coach Dan Quinn stepped up to the microphone before practice to answer questions from the media on the third day of training camp.
Quinn gave some injury updates to open up his Saturday morning presser. Tight end John Bates is dealing with a hamstring injury that will keep him out for a few weeks. This will injury is unfortunate for the offense as Bates is the best blocker at the position, but it will give other players opportunities to get reps during camp. Nick Allegretti missed Day 2 with a calf strain, and he’s probably going to miss another week, giving veteran Julian Good-Jones and rookie Matt Gulbin more reps. Quinn also provided a positive injury updates. WR Treylon Burks sat out practice on Thursday due to some soreness in his foot, but he’s back on the field today.
