The Portuguese football superstar and Rodriguez married on Tuesday in a civil ceremony in Cascais, a coastal town in western Portugal near Lisbon. The ceremony was described by Ronaldo’s public relations team as a private and intimate affair attended by their five children.
The couple also shared a picture of their wedding rings on their respective Instagram accounts, confirming the marriage. Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been together for around 10 years after meeting in Madrid.
The 41-year-old Ronaldo, a five-time world player of the year, recently represented Portugal at his record-tying sixth World Cup. He is now set to return to club football, with his Saudi Arabian team Al Nassr beginning its domestic season on Saturday.
The wedding marks a new chapter in the relationship of one of football’s most high-profile couples, who have built a family together over the past decade.
