Indian fans brought plenty of banter to the stands during the India-Pakistan Asian Games final, with Pakistan batter Saim Ayub becoming the target of several chants over his fielding and dropped catches.
A viral video from the match shows Indian supporters repeatedly sledging Ayub from the stands as they attempted to distract the Pakistan player. One fan can be heard shouting, “Oyeeee… Biryani,” while another taunted Ayub by saying, “Ek aur catch chhod na,” referring to his fielding errors during the match.
The crowd also broke into a chant of “Chhodega bhai, chhodega… Pakistan chhodega,” playing on the word “chhodega” and linking it to Ayub’s missed catches and Pakistan.
Another chant heard during the match was “Koi garden mein nahi ghoomega,” a reference to former India captain Rohit Sharma’s popular “garden mein nahi ghoomega” remark. The phrase has since become a widely used cricket meme, particularly in discussions around fielding and players’ efforts on the field.
The chants added to the lively atmosphere inside the stadium during the high-profile India-Pakistan contest and quickly drew attention from cricket fans on social media.
