Day 19 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place Tuesday, August 25. This was the team’s final practice session of what we think of as training camp.
1. Securing a Spot? QB Deshaun Watson‘s first pass of the day went to TE Blake Whiteheart, who has been a regular pass catcher the past few weeks. We’ll see if a youngster passes him up, but with TE Jack Stoll going on IR, Whiteheart appears to be the favorite as the team’s backup tight end.
2. Sanders to Corley: The back end of the Browns’ receiving chart will be interesting. Here is QB Shedeur Sanders finding WR Malachi Corley down the sideline for 7-on 7 drill:
3. Injury on Defense: It’s good that several players are returning from injury, but unfortunately, a new one popped up. Rookie undrafted CB Michael Coats, who has been the team’s top camp gem this offseason, couldn’t put weight on his right ankle and had to be helped off.
4. A Brief Scrum to End Camp: With training camp coming to a close, a few players tried having some fun to cap things off:
5. Quinshon Judkins Returns to Team Drills: Last, but not least, RB Quinshon Judkins returned to team drills today:
6. Brownies: C Parker Brailsford returned to practice. … LT Spencer Fano and DT Maliek Collins were held out of team drills.
7. Up Next: Training camp has wrapped up for the season. The team will play their final preseason game Thursday evening, and then roster cuts are due this weekend.
