The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the midst of a four-game win streak, but are idle this week on their bye week. However, the team’s long snapper continues to win even on the bye, as Christian Kuntz was named the Week 9 NFLPA Community MVP.
Kuntz recently donated $10,000 to the Pittsburgh Morrow School. The funds helped open a resource room for at-risk kids and their families to receive food, uniforms, and hygiene kits every month. The long snapper donated the money through his foundation, “Kuntz for Ki6s.”

“I’m honored to support Pittsburgh Morrow and be part of this special ribbon-cutting ceremony. Investing in our community and creating opportunities for the next generation is very important,” Kuntz said via Steelers.com. “I hope this contribution helps make a lasting impact and reminds students that their community is behind them every step of the way. Pittsburgh has always been home, and I’m proud to give back to a city that means so much to me.”
The NFLPA has pledged to donate $10,000 to Kuntz’s foundation for his efforts.
Kuntz is in his sixth season with the Steelers. He has played in 93 games and counting in his career. Kuntz grew up in the Pittsburgh area, attending Chartiers Valley High School in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. The long snapper played college ball at Duquesne, where he still holds the program’s career sack record. The hometown kid is making a big impact in the place he has always called home.
