Earlier today, before the stadium drama unfolded, the Chicago Bears announced that they have signed their first two 2026 draft picks, safety Dillon Thieneman and center Logan Jones.
Thieneman, the 25th overall selection out of Oregon, figures to earn a starting spot next to free agent pickup Coby Bryant at some point this offseason. The Bears went into the draft with a need at the safety position, and when Thieneman, who was universally considered the best player available, made it to 25, it was a no-brainer for general manager Ryan Poles.

His contract is for four years and a fully guaranteed $19,512,460, and a $10,650,868 signing bonus. The Bears have the ability to pick up a fifth-year option.
Jones, the 57th overall pick from Iowa, has a tougher path to the starting lineup after Chicago’s trade for center Garrett Bradbury, but he’s clearly the future at the position.
His contract if a four year deal worth $8,468,178, with a signing bonus of $2,618,668. He’ll be an unrestriucted free agent after his fourth seaosn unless he’s extended.
The only draft pick left unsigned for the Bears is third round tight end Sam Roush, who will get a four year deal worth approximately $5.8M once inked.
