The Chargers are bringing up veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling to the active roster after signing him to the practice in Week Two. The move comes after the Chargers release wide receiver Greg Jennings following the signing of tight end Hayden Rucci from the Jaguars practice squad.
Scantling will turn 32 years old next week and was most recently with the Cowboys during the offseason. He last played in a NFL game last season as a member of the Steelers. He ended the 2025 season with 14 catches for 120 yards and a touchdown split between stints in Pittsburgh and with the 49ers.

In 2024, Scantling caught four touchdowns as a member of the New Orleans Saints.
The Chargers are now back to six wide receivers on the active roster. With Ladd McConkey still healing from a rib injury, there’s a chance MVS sees actual snaps against the Bills should the Chargers need to reach that deep down the depth chart.
