On Tuesday afternoon, CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported that the Chargers are signing wide receiver Gary Jennings to the active roster following an injury to wideout KeAndre Lambert-Smith.
Jennings spent this past offseason with the Chargers where he recorded three receptions for 44 yards during the preseason. Prior to the Chargers, Jennings played for the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL during their 2025 season. He was originally a fourth-round pick by the New York Giants in 2019 out of West Virginia and has also spent time with the Panthers, Chiefs, and Raiders.
The 6’1, 214-pound Jennings was a Second-Team All-Big 12 selection in 2017 and had career numbers of 168 receptions for 2,297 yards and 17 touchdowns from 2015-2018. In 2024, as a member of the Birmingham Stallions, he was part of a team that won the inaugural UFL Championship.
With Jennings’ signing, expect a corresponding move to keep the Chargers active roster at 53.
