At 0-2, the trajectory of the Bolts this season is firmly downward. A look at the league’s No. 1 most difficult schedule from Week Three on could very well turn in to a top-five pick in next year’s draft if things don’t take a drastic turn.

However, this new updated 2027 mock draft from Yahoo Sports still has the Chargers picking at No. 17, meaning they believe the Bolts will settle in and finish with around 8-9 wins this year. That sounds like a miracle at the current moment, but something the fan base will surely take if they could have it.
At pick No. 17, analyst Curt Popejoy has the Chargers selecting Oklahoma defensive tackle David Stone. Stone stands 6’3 and looks incredibly-lean for someone listed at 315 pounds. He has the mass to play anywhere along the interior of the line all while also offering the upside of a pass rush with his excellent get-off and notable length.
Defensive tackle likely isn’t the position the Chargers will need to address the most come next year’s draft, but picking a blue-chip player at an impact position in today’s NFL is always a strong backup option if there is not an elite offensive lineman or skill player available when they’re on the clock.
