The Baltimore Ravens are planning to have Lamar Jackson back this week after the quarterback missed the past three games with a high ankle sprain.
“We do think we’ll have Lamar this week,” said head coach Jesse Minter on Friday. “I’m excited about that. He’s had a really good week of practice.”

Jackson has been out since Week 4 after getting injured against the Tennessee Titans. He returned to practice last week in a limited capacity before being ruled out for Week 7. This week, the quarterback was a full participant all three days and is ready to go.
“I’m always excited when I’m able to be back on the field with my guys,” Jackson said. “Put us in the win column, help us get another W. That’s what I’m ready to do.”
The Ravens are currently 4-3 and are set to face the 5-1 Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
While Jackson was sidelined, the team went 1-2 with Tyler Huntley under center, including losses to divisional foes the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals the past two weeks.

The AFC North remains tight, with the Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers leading the division at 5-2 and the Bengals sitting 4-2 just ahead of the Ravens. Baltimore’s upcoming schedule sees them take on the Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans before their bye week in Week 13. Jackson is eager to help right the ship beginning this week.
“Sense of urgency is extremely high,” Jackson added. “Divisional game, didn’t go the way we wanted to last week. Guys just be hitting the ground running just trying to get back to where we should be.”

Jackson explained last week that the biggest factor in whether he would be able to play was not so much the level of swelling but how much of the pain he could deal with.
Jackson’s importance to the roster is on display every time he takes the field. According to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley, the Ravens have scored 14 touchdowns in the 14 quarters the quarterback has played this season. In the 14 quarters without Jackson, Baltimore has only found the end zone five times.
