2022 Davis Cup champion Canada is heading back to the Final 8.

Felix Auger-Aliassime finished off Arthur Rinderknech, 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-4, to send Canada past France in Quebec City, 3-1.

Canada will join the eight-team field in Bologna for this year’s Davis Cup Final 8, which takes place from November 24-29.

The event was well attended – 11,697 fans came through the gates to set a new record for the most fans in attendance at a Davis Cup event held in Canada.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked No. 5, went 2-0 in singles, and Canada got a massive win to open the tie as Liam Draxl defeated Rinderknech, 6-2, 7-5.

France suffered its first loss in four head-to-head ties against Canada.

Zverev Leads Germany Through

In Halle, Alexander Zverev continued his hot form by leading Germany back to the Davis Cup Final 8.

The German went 2-0 in singles and clinched Germany’s 3-1 victory with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Dino Prizmic on Sunday.

Germany will bid for its first Davis Cup title in 33 years in Bologna. Three-time Davis Cup champion Germany is back in the Davis Cup quarterfinals for the third consecutive year.

Here are the results of this weekend’s other five qualifying ties, with Spain and Chile the only tie yet to be completed.

Czechia def. United States, 3-2 — Czechia rallied from 2-1 down to eliminate the United States in Prague. [Read more here]

Korea def. India, 3-1 — Korea reached the Davis Cup quarterfinals for the first time.

Austria def. Belgium, 3-1 — Austria booked its place in the Final 8 in Bologna.

Great Britain def. Ecuador, 4-0 — Great Britain swept Ecuador in London to advance to the Final 8.

Spain leads Chile, 2-0 — Spain won both opening singles matches in Santiago, with the tie to be completed Sunday.
