Veteran NBA guard Cameron Payne has officially signed a one-year contract with Turkey’s Anadolu Efes, Sportando relays.
Payne, 32, wound up overseas again after failing to land another NBA contract. Payne worked out for the Kings in August.
Last season, Payne was on the Pacers’ training camp roster but was cut loose before opening night. He then hooked on with Serbia’s KK Partizan. before signing with the Sixers in February. He was waived shortly before the postseason.
Payne saw action in his first 20 games with Philadelphia but fell out of the rotation as of late, receiving a pair of DNP-CDs before suffering a hamstring strain. Overall, Payne averaged 7.4 PPG and 2.6 APG on .376/.330/.864 shooting in 17.0 MPG.
The journeyman guard, a 2015 first-round pick, has also had stints with Oklahoma City, Chicago, Cleveland, Phoenix, Milwaukee and New York. He’s logged 499 regular-season appearances (72 starts), averaging 7.7 points and 3.2 assists in 17.5 minutes per game.
