The Cleveland Browns are kicking off the regular season against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This week, our confidence polls returned, asking fans how confident they are in the direction of the team. Despite the team being stuck with Deshaun Watson as their quarterback, fans are choosing to be a tad optimistic, with 55% of them expressing a degree of confidence.

We’ll see how that number fluctuates after Todd Monken’s first game as a head coach. By comparison, 86% of Jaguars fans are confident in the direction of their team.

We asked one other question to Browns fans this week, and it involved them predicting how things will go in Week 1. Overall, the fanbase is not predicting a win, as 76% of them selected Jacksonville to win, compared to 24% for the Browns. Our DBN staff is a tad more optimistic when we made our predictions this week.

There was also one national poll this week that had some relevancy to the Browns, asking which team was most likely to go from worst to first this season. The Detroit Lions ran away with the vote, understandably so. The Browns were all the way at the bottom, lumped into a tiny fraction of the vote with the Jets and Cardinals.

According to FanDuel, the Browns are 8.5 point underdogs against the Jaguars this week, with the over/under being 40.5.
