The Denver Broncos find ways to win games. Period.
All of this nonsense on is this sustainable … it’s the makeup of this team. It was the case last season. It’s the case this season. You can call it moxie. You can call resiliency. In the end, the Broncos just find a way to get victories.

After the six-game gauntlet Denver had to start the season, sitting at 4-2 is a helluva feat.
As Broncos head coach Sean Payton said after the 17-14 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks:
“Here’s what I said to them. There’s still, obviously, a lot of things that we can improve on, we have to. When this initial stretch was given to us, it’s hard to figure out in our league, you guys know that. When you look at last season, and then you project what teams are going to be like, it’s hard to do. We found a way to get four wins.
“We understand that certainly we have to become more effective, more efficient offensively, and yet … Even in the kicking game, I thought we hit the huge field goal, but they won that battle tonight, they did relative to field position. Defense really was lights out. … It was a good win, but there’s a lot of work to do.”
Yes, Bo Nix and the offense need to get better.
But you would much rather sit at 4-2 with areas to improve upon rather than the alternative.
“Shoot, we just have to execute,” Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins said to the media after the game. “You know, we’ve played some really good defenses. Every single team we’ve played has a really good defense. So you just got to go to the drawing board and figure it out and execute. That is what it comes down to, execution.”

There’s also that added motivation to correct the issues and to know the offense is capable of more.
“For sure. I think as we go, as we continue to go throughout the season, we’ll just find ways to get better and better,” Nix said. “I do think you have to (attribute it to) the schedule, just the first six games we knew were going to be tough. To come out 4-2 with really a complete team effort in all six games, it’s a complete team effort to get four of those wins. We came up short just barely in San Fran. We could be 5-1. 4-2 is a really good spot, and then as an offense, we’ll figure out ways to continue to improve.”
In the end, all that matters is the Broncos are 4-2 after a brutal stretch to open the season. And as is the case with this team, it just finds ways to win games.
“The record,” Payton said when asked what gives him reason to smile about the 4-2 record. “Meaning I say that the record, because those wins are hard to get. So we just played a real good team, and I feel like we can continue to improve. Being at 4-2 right at this little three-day stretch and then get ready next week, that’d be the honest … And again, I’m a little bit of a realist to know that four and two could easily be two and four.”
