Could the Broncos end the night with a big splash?
According to DNVR’s Broncos insider Zac Stevens, the Broncos are doing everything in their power to trade for Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor. Stevens adds that this deal could go down at any moment and that Broncos Country may not want to go to sleep just yet.
Stevens goes on to say that the Broncos WANT Jonathan Taylor now.
“I believe the Broncos are going to do everything in their power to trade for Jonathan Taylor. This could happen at any moment. You might not want to go to sleep Broncos Country. The Broncos are going to try to pull this trade off, from my understanding. They want Jonathan Taylor now.”
After a huge, thrilling win to improve to 6-2 on the year and take the lead in the AFC West, the Broncos could be on the verge of making a big-time splash trade to improve their offense. The Colts are imploding and started their fire sale this past week, and the Broncos have been named a potential suitor for Taylor from the start. Now, with them sitting as the number 2 seed in the AFC, they could be going “all in” and add one of the best backs in the NFL to their offense.

The Broncos do have rookie Jonah Coleman who had over 100 yards from scrimmage which included a 50+ yard catch in run to get the Broncos inside the 5-yard late in the game. Coleman would go on to score the go-ahead touchdown, which ultimately ended up being the difference in the game. However, the rest of the Broncos’ runners are either struggling or currently on the injured reserve.
Veteran JK Dobbins’ struggles continued this game, and he apparently unfollowed the Broncos on social media last week and would later get into a kinda heated back-and-forth with 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis. The Broncos also placed second-year back RJ Harvey on the short-term IR this week, joining Tyler Badie. So, you can make the case that they should add to their running back room.
Hypothetically, if the Broncos were to acquire Taylor, Coleman would become the Broncos’ 1B and give the Broncos one of the better run games in the NFL. Their run game has really struggled in recent years, so this could be a big time boost to their offense and make life easier for quarterback Bo Nix.
We’ll see if this trade goes down tonight or in the coming days, but it sounds like the Broncos want to make a splash addition to their offense ahead of the trade deadline.
