The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers play in Week 5 at Lambeau Field, and our partners at FanDuel Sportsbook just dropped their early odds for the game, and this one surprised me.
This will likely change over the coming days, but right now the Bears are a 1.5-point road favorite.

Sure, Chicago has been playing better over the last four weeks, but Green Bay was favored by 3.5 points on the look-ahead line. I figured the line would tighten up a bit after today’s performances by each team, but that’s a big shift.
The (3-1) Bears dominated the New York Jets earlier today, winning 23 to 12, while the (2-2) Packers held on to beat the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17 to 14. Both teams are trying to keep pace with the (4-0) Minnesota Vikings, who just beat the winless Miami Dolphins, 15 to 10, behind five field goals.
But back to the fiercest rivalry in sports.
The Bears have won three of their last four games against the Packers, including last season’s Wildcard game.

Chicago will no doubt lean on their league-leading rushing attack no matter who starts at quarterback, but it does seem like Tyson Bagent will get his second consecutive start. Okay, so technically since Bagent didn’t take the first quarterback-center exchange, he doesn’t get credit as the starting QB, but he started and went 25 of 34 (73.5%) for 268 yards, an interception, with a passer rating of 83.9.
Green Bay’s starting quarterback Jordan Love completed 22 of 30 (73.3%), for 197 yards, 2 touchdowns, an interception, and a passer rating of 98.9. This was the first game this season that Love completed better than 55.2% of his passes.
All three games these two teams played against each other last year were one-score games, so I’d expect another close one.
What are your thoughts on the early line?
