Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams avoided a serious injury to his right hamstring, according to imaging exams.
Williams could even play the Bears’ Week 3 Monday night matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reports.
Williams sustained what appeared to be a serious injury during the fourth quarter of Chicago’s 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Scrambling to his left and attempting to run toward the end zone, the Bears QB fell to the ground and quickly grabbed the back of his left leg.
Though Vikings linebacker Andrew Van Ginkle initially appeared to trip Williams for the tackle, his hamstring may have grabbed as he was running, causing him to fall.

Williams was on the ground and could be heard screaming in pain on the Fox telecast as trainers approached to check on him. He eventually was able to stand up and tried to walk off the field with help, but couldn’t put any weight on his leg. Williams was eventually taken away on a cart to the locker room, giving a thumbs-up to the crowd at Soldier Field.
