Bears outplay and outcoach the Eagles

The NFL scriptwriters were like, ‘You thought the 2025 Chicago Bears season was a fun ride; wait till you get a load of what we got cooked up in 2026!’

Such a dramatic start to the season for the Bears, but last night’s game would feel right at home as the backdrop of a cheesy Hallmark holiday movie.

Who had the Bears smacking around the Philadelphia Eagles again, but this time, with 38-year-old QB3 Case Keenum making the start? Who could have predicted a sucker sneak making Keenum the oldest Bear to ever score a rushing touchdown? Who had the Bears defense pitching a second-half shutout while holding Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts to 42 passing yards, an interception, and a 50% completion in the half? Who had running back Saquon Barkley getting only to 9 yards on 4 carries in the second half after 73 yards on 11 first-half runs?

Keenum had his family with him both pre- and post-game, and Bears fans all around the world were in their feels!

Head coach Ben Johnson and his staff had a great game plan to attack Philly, but defensive coordinator Dennis Allen and his staff deserve kudos too for how they adjusted and shut the Eagles down.

That’s two solid games in a row for Allen’s bunch, and a fantastic bounce back from Johnson after Chicago’s offense failed to find the end zone last week.
