The first padded practice for the Chicago Bears took a bad turn on Monday.
Prized free agent acquisition Coby Bryant went down with a left knee injury and was carted off.
Multiple camp reports noted he was emotional, slamming his helmet. Teammates went to offer him their comfort.

He got onto the cart under his own power.
Bryant joined the Bears during free agency following a run with the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. He is in line to be the starting safety opposite rookie Dillon Thieneman.
The Bears don’t have a lot of depth at safety, with Elijah Hicks (who is on the PUP list) and Cam Lewis, among other lesser-known practice-squad-type players.
Stay tuned for more updates as any news comes out.
At his post-practice press conference, tight end Colston Loveland said that he believes Bryant will ultimately “be fine,” saying “he’s a dawg.” (link)
