New Las Vegas Raiders‘ head coach Klint Kubiak indicated before the start of the season that second-year starting running back Ashton Jeanty would have a heavy work load this season.
Kubiak wasn’t kidding and he didn’t waste any time showing his plans for Jeanty. The No. 6 overall pick from the 2025 draft touched the ball 29 times (23 carries and six catches). The Raiders had 68 offensive plays.

Jeanty had 102 yards rushing and added 45 yards receiving for a total of 147 yards. The Raiders had a total of 290 yards of offense. According to NFL Researcher, Jeanty had 50.7 percent of his team’s scrimmage yards in Week 1. It was the second highest rate in the league.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that high percentage rate continues.
