While much of the injury attention was placed on Seattle Seahawks rookie Bud Clark, another young Seahawks player may also be facing a season-ending injury.
Second-year offensive lineman Mason Richman, who usually lines up at guard but can play all across the line, went down on the opening drive of Seattle’s 19-16 preseason loss to the Tennessee Titans. It looked like his knee buckled without much contact, and there was at least hope the injury wasn’t serious when he walked off under his own power.

Well, in Mike Macdonald’s post-game press conference, he delivered the bad news.
“We’re going to try to figure out what’s going on with Mason, but we also think that’s a major injury,” Macdonald said. “A long term injury.”
Richman was replaced at left guard by Bryce Cabeldue, his 2025 draft classmate who had otherwise spent a good chunk of training camp and preseason with the third-team offense.
If you’re keeping score, one week in Nashville cost Jake Bobo his season with a knee injury in Friday’s joint practice, Bud Clark “multiple months” with a broken ankle, and now potentially Richman is done until 2027 with what looked to be a knee injury.

Can Seattle play some random Field Gulls commenters in the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs? Just to be safe. This was a brutal week for Seattle’s roster depth, particularly its young players.
