The Kansas City Chiefs practiced on Thursday for the last time before the first exhibition game against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday.
After the lighter, 10-10-10 session of practice, head coach Andy Reid stood at the podium and updated local media on the injury status of a few players.
He also confirmed that Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes will not be playing in Saturday’s game.

According to Nate Taylor of ESPN, Reid shared that safety Chamarri Conner missed practice due to “banging knees” with wide receiver Tyquan Thornton during Wednesday’s practice.
Veteran slot cornerback Kader Kohou was also held out of Thursday’s practice. Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reported that a sore knee kept Kohou off the practice field.
According to Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star, the following players worked off to the side of practice on Thursday along with Conner.
Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (Knee)
Defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (PUP)
Wide receiver Jimmy Holiday didn’t appear to be on the field or the sideline, according to Pete.

Rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane participated in the non-padded practice without the yellow jersey that signals a player is a limited participant and is avoiding contact. It remains to be seen whether that was the case because it was a non-padded practice, or if he is really ready to fully participate moving forward.
Defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah donned a Chiefs jersey at practice, despite not being officially signed as of yesterday’s NFL Transactions Report. He will wear No. 50 in Kansas City, according to Chiefs Senior Reporter Matt McMullen.
