The NFL trade deadline is just days away, with the time to complete trades set for Tuesday, November 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
For the New England Patriots, it presents an opportunity to bolster their roster as they get ready for a playoff push.

With injuries plaguing the team throughout the season, the Patriots could benefit from adding needed depth on both sides of the ball.
According to Patriots fans, however, one position stands out above the rest. In the latest SB Nation Reacts survey, 36% of participants said they would look to acquire an offensive guard ahead of the trade deadline.
Much of the comment section went in different directions:

I think the Pats shound stand pat unless something worthwhile comes along. They should neither trade for a player or let go of anyone unless an offer you can’t refuse comes along. They already shot their load on AJ. I hope the AJ situation improves but I’m far less optimistic than I was during the pre-season.

I say running back. If Mondre goes down this team is truly toast. Kiner has been good, but Henderson is a borderline bust.

Blocking TE& hopefully one that can catch too…

Edge for me. They’re going to kill Jacas and Ponder. Way too many snaps. Josh Sweat would be a nice get. They could throw in Jack Gibbens if they want.

Other: Blocking TE, realistic, cheap way to improve the running game and having a more balanced offense will help the entire offense.

We need skilled WRs

A run stopping DT

All of the above. I know that’s not realistic, but we have so many needs. Just saying.
All in all, this week’s survey results look as follows:
The Patriots have already lost starting guard Mike Onwenu for an extended period while Alijah Vera-Tucker is also on injured reserve. However, Vera-Tucker is expected to return this season while Ben Brown, Matt Pryor, and Greg Van Roten provide solid depth along the interior. In our opinion, the Patriots are fine at that spot.

As for where else the team could look to add, 19% of voters went with an off-ball linebacker while 14% focused along the edge, where the Patriots just have Gabe Jacas, Dre’Mont Jones and Elijah Ponder on the active roster.
On offense, 12% of participants voted to add another wide receiver. 11% of voters also sided with the Patriots standing pat at the deadline.
The team’s path at the trade deadline could affect confidence in the team, which continues to be positive after the Patriots win over the Dolphins last week. 81% of voters believe the Patriots are trending in the right direction, down from just 84% last week.
Any moves the Patriots make to their roster over the upcoming days will be to help their chances of winning the Super Bowl. They currently hold the 11th best odds on FanDuel Sportsbook to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, sixth best in the AFC.
