Chris Boucher is headed to China.
The Canadian basketball player signed a deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, the league announced on Tuesday.
Boucher, of Montreal, spent last season with the Boston Celtics, playing nine games and averaging 2.3 points per contest.
The 33-year-old previously enjoyed a largely successful seven-season run with the Toronto Raptors. Over 406 games with the Canadian club, Boucher registered 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest.
Boucher was a member of the Raptors’ 2019 championship team one year after also winning the title with the Golden State Warriors.
He finished eighth in Sixth Man of the Year voting in 2021.
Boucher is taking the place of fellow NBA veteran Javale McGee on the Sharks roster, per Chinese reporter Zhang Duo. Boucher joins fellow imports D’Angelo Russell and Brandon Goodwin in Shanghai.
